(Moringa ole\u00edfera), conocida como \u00ab\u00e1rbol de la vida\u00bb, es originaria de la India y muy valorada por sus frutos, semillas, ra\u00edces, corteza, hojas y ramas, que aportan beneficios significativos para la salud, mejora las defensas naturales del cuerpo y ayuda en la regeneraci\u00f3n celular, este \u00e1rbol, de gran valor nutricional y con propiedades terap\u00e9uticas, se utiliza para combatir la desnutrici\u00f3n y la hipovitaminosis, incluso para purificar el agua, utilizada tambi\u00e9n para curar muchas enfermedades, como la anemia, ansiedad, asma, bronquitis, c\u00f3lera, conjuntivitis, hipertensi\u00f3n y \u00falceras, investigaciones cient\u00edficas respaldan muchos de sus usos medicinales y cosm\u00e9ticos, las hojas se consumen en infusi\u00f3n o en con un contenido excepcional de vitaminas y minerales, superando al s\u00e9samo en calcio, al pl\u00e1tano en potasio, a la zanahoria en vitamina A y a otros vegetales en prote\u00ednas, es rica en fitoqu\u00edmicos como flavonoides y polifenoles, es una fuente \u00fanica de prote\u00ednas completas (25%), con una digestibilidad al 100%, adem\u00e1s, contiene 15 de los 20 minerales esenciales y 7 de las 13 vitaminas, destacando el calcio, hierro, y vitaminas del grupo B, A, C y E, la dosis diaria recomendada es de 3 a 5 gramos.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">Egea et al, manifiestan que la\u00a0<em>Moringa ole\u00edfera<\/em>\u00a0es un \u00e1rbol caducifolio, de crecimiento r\u00e1pido, con ra\u00edces tuberosas y gruesas, hoja verde claro, de floraci\u00f3n abundante, con frutos en c\u00e1psulas alargadas y colgantes y que contienen semillas oscuras, se asocia a zonas tropicales y subtropicales, bastante resistente a la sequ\u00eda, con una temperatura de crecimiento ideal de 25 a 35\u00baC, aunque puede tolerar hasta los 48\u00baC\u00b9<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">Del mismo modo Stevens et al, mencionan que en muchas zonas el consumo de la moringa (hojas, frutos, vaina, flores o ra\u00edz) est\u00e1 arraigado en la cultura popular debido a las propiedades curativas que se le atribuyen para el tratamiento de diferentes afecciones, por lo que tambi\u00e9n se la denomina \u201c\u00e1rbol milagro\u201d y se utiliza habitualmente como remedio natural para gran diversidad de afecciones como las fiebres de la malaria o fiebres tifoideas, otitis, infecciones oculares, hiperglucemia, hipertensi\u00f3n, parasitosis intestinales, anemias o dermatitis entre otras\u00b2<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">Seg\u00fan ciencia.unam.mx, asiente que la moringa puede mejorar la alimentaci\u00f3n de las personas y ofrecerles numerosos beneficios nutritivos, inclusive algunos estudios de sus hojas han arrojado que contiene sustancias anticancer\u00edgenas, hipotensoras, hipoglucemiantes y antibi\u00f3ticas, el doctor Mark Olson, del Instituto de Biolog\u00eda de la UNAM, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que los beneficios nutricionales de la moringa han sido reconocidos desde hace mucho tiempo, sin embargo su efectividad en la prevenci\u00f3n de enfermedades debe ser confirmada mediante investigaciones y estudios cl\u00ednicos, explica que en M\u00e9xico, la moringa se ha usado m\u00e1s con fines medicinales que nutricionales, en vista que hay muchos productos medicinales a base de moringa en el mercado, es bueno regular este comercio y llevar a cabo investigaciones para confirmar sus beneficios para la salud, adem\u00e1s de sus aportes nutricionales<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">Finalmente, mencionar que las hojas de moringa son ricas en prote\u00ednas, comparables a la leche en polvo, f\u00e1ciles de digerir y con amino\u00e1cidos esenciales, ricas en vitaminas A y C pertenecen a la misma familia que la papaya, r\u00e1bano, mastuerzo y col, todas ellas ricas en antioxidantes, estudios en animales sugieren que la moringa puede aumentar las enzimas que desactivan tumores, mostrando un posible efecto anticancer\u00edgeno.
