o cladodios con tama\u00f1os variados desde 30 a 60 cm de largo por 29 a 40 cm de ancho y espesor de hasta 3 cm, pertenece a la familia de las cact\u00e1ceas, cuyo fruto es espinosa que en su interior contiene una pulpa muy jugosa con abundantes semillas que facilita la digesti\u00f3n, dulce y agradable de varios colores como el amarillo, rojo verde blanco y de tama\u00f1os variados, la tuna es de gran valor nutritivo con contenidos de vitaminas, minerales, prote\u00ednas y fibras.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"has_ma_el_bg_slider elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-9b25d7d elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default jltma-glass-effect-no\" data-id=\"9b25d7d\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">Las hojas denominadas tambi\u00e9n como pencas de color verde, con espinas aunque hay variedades de tuna que no tienen espinas, tiene flores de color amarillo, anaranjado, rojo y rosado consecutivas y distanciadas entre s\u00ed en la parte superior y alrededor de la hoja, las mismas que en su madurez dar\u00e1n lugar a los frutos comestibles y agradables, las mismas que son bayas de forma ovoide esf\u00e9rica de colores que se menciona en el p\u00e1rrafo anterior, sin embargo por recientes investigaciones por la FAO, esta fruta ser\u00eda un aliado importante para tratar la diabetes reduciendo la cantidad de az\u00facar en la sangre gracias a su capacidad para metabolizarse, posee potasio y un poco de sodio por lo que puede ser consumido por personas con problemas renales o de hipertensi\u00f3n, asimismo, presenta altos niveles de calcio y f\u00f3sforo, vitaminas fundamentales para la formaci\u00f3n de los huesos.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">Del mismo modo Frati et al. en su estudio realizado en un centro m\u00e9dico sobre los efectos del nopal en las personas, menciona que utilizando 100g de nopal asado administrado directamente tanto a sujetos sanos como a obesos y a diab\u00e9ticos tipo 2, la administraci\u00f3n de nopal 20 min antes de los alimentos tres veces al d\u00eda durante 10 d\u00edas, produjo disminuci\u00f3n significativa en el colesterol total, en los triglic\u00e9ridos y en el peso corporal de los sujetos obesos y diab\u00e9ticos tipo 2 en el glucemia de sujetos diab\u00e9ticos, con estos resultados los autores proponen que los efectos observados con el nopal se deben a su contenido en fibra, se sabe que la fibra es una mezcla de lignina, celulosa, hemicelulosa, pectina, mucilago y gomas, capaz de disminuir la absorci\u00f3n gastrointestinal de varios nutrientes y en consecuencia los niveles sangu\u00edneos de colesterol\u00b9<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">Por \u00faltimo, en el estudio recientemente indexado W\u00f3lfram et al, manifiesta que con la administraci\u00f3n de 250 g de pulpa fresca de <em>Opuntia. robusta<\/em> por 8 semanas, produjo en pacientes no diab\u00e9ticos disminuci\u00f3n de colesterol total y del colesterol unido a lipoprote\u00ednas de baja densidad y los niveles de glucosa y de insulina disminuyeron en un 11%, para explicar estos efectos, los autores proponen un mecanismo sensibilizante del receptor a la insulina, el argumento que apoya esta hip\u00f3tesis es el haber obtenido bajos niveles de insulina e importante efecto \u201chipogluc\u00e9mico\u201d \u00b2<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">La vanguardia.com\u00b3 da a conocer algunas propiedades y beneficios del nopal o tuna para la salud de las personas, en primer t\u00e9rmino nos mantiene hidratados por su contenido de gran cantidad de agua, la presencia de fibra en este alimento permite regular el tr\u00e1nsito intestinal y evitar el estre\u00f1imiento.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">Del mismo modo, manifiesta adem\u00e1s que el contenido del calcio ayuda a fortalecer los huesos y prevenir problemas de la osteoporosis, as\u00ed como la acci\u00f3n antioxidante de este fruto ayuda a retrasar el envejecimiento, por otra parte, el contenido de fibra del nopal permite reducir los niveles de colesterol y los triglic\u00e9ridos, y finalmente es bueno que los diab\u00e9ticos consuman esta fruta ya que disminuye la concentraci\u00f3n de az\u00facar en
